The 9th Conference “La Xarxa a Debat”, titled “Mental health and community: what interventions? What models?”, will address the role of the community in mental health care.

Organized by FCCSM and AEN Catalonia, the conference brought together professionals from various care and community resources.

The debate focused on how to move towards a community models, beyond strictly healthcare.

The importance of prevention and health promotion was highlighted, involving fields such as education, housing, work, social services, and justice.
The participation of was also claimed users and family members in the organization of care.

Several community experiences developed in different territories, aimed at adolescents, families, and populations in vulnerable situations, were presented.

Experiences showed that community work requires involvement, coordination, sustainability, and cultural adaptation.

The need to review professional practices and move beyond excessively biomedical or deficit-focused models was raised.

The importance of training and caring for professionals in the face of the changes implied by this care model was also highlighted.

Overall, the day vindicated a community, interdisciplinary and participatory mental health, aimed at strengthening the capacities of individuals and the community.
