The Debate Forum «When we went crazy», held on March 19, 2026, had as its central theme the book presentation of Sonia Herrero and the reflection on mental disorders and their impact on the family environment.
The meeting opened a space for dialogue about the experiences that families live through in situations of psychological distress.
The role of the family as an active agent in the processes of was highlighted’accompaniment, support and recovery.
The debate made it possible to address the difficulties, challenges, and needs that may arise in these situations.
The importance of incorporating the families' perspective into mental health care and policies was also reflected upon.
The event featured the participation of Sonia Herrero, author of the book, Sara Porta, Deputy Secretary of the TSCAT, and Ester Quintana, member of Families in Action for Mental Health.
The different contributions fostered a pluralistic perspective on the relationship between mental health, family, and recovery processes.
The Forum claimed the need to strengthen spaces for family participation and listening within the mental health network.
Organized by Families in Action for Mental Health Group, with the collaboration of the Official College of Social Work of Catalonia, generated a space for meeting and debate.
Thus, the event contributed to make visible the experience of families and highlight their role in support and recovery in mental health.
