Welcome to the Foundation
The Catalan Congress of Mental Health Foundation (FCCSM) is a private, non-profit organization, established in Barcelona on September 14, 2000, as a result of a collective process initiated in 1996, concerning the preparation and celebration of the 1st Catalan Congress of Mental Health.
The FCCSM was born from the will to act and influence the promotion and improvement of mental health in Catalonia, and to be a broad and plural platform that brings together efforts, from its independence, with all institutions and organizations that share this same interest.
The Foundation is made up of a board of 40 members, mental health professionals, and a broad collective of Friends of the Foundation. It currently has six patron members:
- College of Physicians of Barcelona
- Official College of Psychology of Catalonia
- Official College of Nurses of Barcelona
- Official College of Social Work of Catalonia
- College of Social Educators of Catalonia
- College of Occupational Therapists of Catalonia

Everything about the 8th Catalan Congress of Mental Health
On November 13th and 14th, 2025, the eighth edition of the Catalan Congress of Mental Health. On this occasion, the Congress focused on Art, culture, and creativity as a means of working with the community for the promotion of mental health and emotional well-being, and also in treatment and recovery processes in the field of mental health care. Within the framework of the cultural program, we delivered in 8th grade Premi Xarxart of Painting and Drawing and the 2nd Xarxat Prize for Poetry and Narrative. The Memorial we dedicated ourselves to the Victims of conflict zones.
Working Groups, Ethics Committee, and Child and Adolescent Committee
The FCCSM structures its activity through its Working Groups, un Ethics Committee I went Committee on Children and Adolescents, all of them composed of professionals who are experts in the field of Mental Health, and in some cases with the participation of service users and their families.
Xarxart Premise
Initial competition of Painting and drawing, subsequently also from Poetry and narrative Aimed at people receiving services from the public mental health network in Catalonia. A space for creativity, expression, and recognition with over 25 years of history.
- Invited to every edition of the Catalan Congress of Mental Health (1999–2025).
- Traveling exhibitions of the winning works, with parallel activities (talks, debates, workshops).
- Works related to Art Brut, an artistic expression outside the limits of official culture.
