Who are we
our mission
Non-profit private entity, founded in Barcelona in 2000, promotes mental health in Catalonia from independence and plurality.
As a result of the collective process initiated with the 1st Catalan Congress on Mental Health in 1996, the CCSM Foundation's mission is to promote a comprehensive, community-based, and interdisciplinary view of mental health, generating independent spaces for thought, dialogue, and cooperation that contribute to the improvement of public policies, professional practices, and the quality of life of individuals.

Reflection and contextualization on mental health
Deepen the concept of (mental) health and the knowledge of social processes – familial, labor, healthcare, etc. – that affect people's health.

Fighting stigma and social exclusion
Defend the rights of people with mental illness and study the causes of social exclusion and their alternatives.

Promotion of an interdisciplinary community model of mental health care
Promote a community-based and interdisciplinary model of mental health care, oriented toward prevention and the comprehensive care of individuals

Cooperation and Networking
Establish cooperative relationships with other professional, scientific, civic, political, and governmental organizations.

Promote awareness, debate, and social advocacy to drive policies and initiatives that foster the mental health of individuals and the community

Provide guidance and support to professionals, organizations, and families to foster the understanding of psychological needs and promote well-being

The Foundation is comprised of a board of 45 members. Mental health professionals and a large group of Friends of the Foundation.

Transparency
The Catalan Congress of Mental Health Foundation was constituted on September 14, 2000, stemming from the First Catalan Congress on Mental Health, which took place in Barcelona in February 1999.
The statutes from the CCSM Foundation reflect its core idea: to be an instrument for the promotion of Mental Health.
