La Jornada «Why does dialogue heal?», held on November 3, 2023, featured the participation of Jaakko Seikkula, Sofia Cálcena and Jordi Marfà.

The meeting focused on the approach of Open Dialogue, a mental health care practice centered on the person and respect for human rights.

The therapeutic elements that explain the good results obtained in Open Dialogue experiences were analyzed.

The conference will delve into the importance of conversation and listening as fundamental tools for addressing mental suffering.

The role of the person's relational network and the active participation of their environment in recovery processes was highlighted.

Open Dialogue was presented as a way of understanding mental health care more humane, community-based, and respectful.

Experiences and initiatives developed in different territories of Catalonia and Latin America were also shared.

The event provided first-hand insight into the contributions of professionals involved in the development and implementation of this approach.

The debate raised new perspectives on ways to support people in situations of crisis and psychological suffering.

Ultimately, the meeting vindicated eDialogue, listening, and human relationships as essential elements of care and recovery in mental health.
