Claudi Camps
Psychiatrist. Since 1995, he has practiced at IAS public network, in the Girona counties. From 2003 onwards, he is Director of Care for the Mental Health and Addictions Network of the Girona Counties. It is also Diploma in Mental Health Management from EADA. Member of the Mental Health Advisory Council of the Department of Health.
In 2012, he was appointed advisor for the Mental Health Master Plan. In 2017, the Parliament of Catalonia decided that the Girona community model was the reference model and should be extended to the rest of Catalonia. His team has also been jointly tasked by the Departments of Health and Welfare to generate the necessary mental health resource planning criteria for the coming years (Mental Health Atlas).
You have been a member of the steering group for the Department of Health's Mental Health Strategic Plan 2017-2020.
In 2021, WHO Europe highlighted the Mental Health Network of the Girona regions as an example of “effective user and caregiver participation in the organization of mental health care at the local level.”.
In 2022, the Girona Network was awarded the most prestigious global awards for disability, Zero Project, endorsed by the United Nations, held at UN headquarters in Vienna in February 2022, for the creation of innovative solutions such as Espai Obert and an alternative housing network.
Throughout his professional career, Claudi Camps has been interested in the organization of care services, the integrative trends of different psychotherapeutic approaches, interdisciplinary work, as well as the reconversion and closure of psychiatric hospitals.
