Jornada post 6è congrés

Post-Congress Journey: 6th Catalan Congress of Mental Health

After the 6th Catalan Congress of Mental Health, held on June 1, 2, and 3, 2017, under the title “MIGRATION, EXILE, AND REFUGE: HUMAN RIGHTS AND MENTAL HEALTH”On March 2, 2018, a conference was held in Barcelona to share data and reflections on the current situation and revisit some of the topics discussed at the Congress.

Unfortunately, the issues addressed at the Congress remain unresolved; in any case, some of them are felt to be silenced by the media or by institutional dynamics and priorities. Aware that the problem persists and, in any case, evolves, creating new needs, this new space for meeting and exchange was proposed among the different organizations and agents present in the territory, both in the field of health or mental health, and in social work and work in the field of immigration and refugees.

Resulting from the conviction that we are facing a dramatic situation in Europe, and with the desire to maintain an attitude of denunciation and mobilization, this conference was held with the aim of continuing our process of discussion and development of different levels of response, from the perspective of health, mental health, and community.
