In Josep Clusa has been the president of the Catalan Congress of Mental Health Foundation since 2005. He was one of the founders, as he was involved from the very first moments when the first edition of the Catalan Congress of Mental Health was organized (1999), which provided the impetus to create the Foundation. Involved since pre-democratic times in achieving dignified and accessible mental health services for citizens, Pep was involved in multiple initiatives: the creation of a section of psychiatrists at the College of Physicians of Barcelona, which he chaired, the coordination of day centers, and the conferences on supported housing... He was always interested in delving into the more humanistic aspects of mental health and strongly advocated for multidisciplinarity and social commitment. He worked until his final moments and bid us all farewell by successfully chairing the 5th edition of the Congress.
Beyond the FCCSM, he was always considered very closely linked to the Mental Health Institute of the Holy Cross, as he had to direct the process of dismantling the old asylum and its transformation into a set of community services that currently constitute the Dr. Pi i Molist care facilities.
