The Catalan Congress of Mental Health for Children and Adolescents<\/strong> <\/span>It is the institutional framework that organizes, coordinates, and carries out the congresses that are held triennially in Barcelona to address mental health issues affecting children and adolescents.<\/p>\n

Its origin dates back to the annual meetings that various institutions in the field of child and adolescent mental health held at the Official College of Psychologists of Catalonia since 1990. However, given the progressive complexity it was acquiring, the members of the scientific and organizing committees decided to replace the workshop format with that of a congress.<\/p>\n

The different editions of the Congress have been:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 1st Congress (2002): \u201cChild and Adolescent Mental Health. Perspectives for the 21st Century.\u201d.
\n\u2022 II Congress (2005): \u201cAdolescence and New Mental Health Needs\u201d.
\n\u2022 III Congress (2008): \u201cContemporary Discontents. Analysis from the fields of Justice, Education, Health, Work, Social Action and Citizenship, and Community.\u201d.
\n\u2022 IV Congress (2011): \u201cThe Times of Childhood and Adolescence. Discomfort and Psychopathology: Detection, Prevention, and Interdisciplinary Action.\u201d.
\n\u2022 5th Congress (2014): \u201cMental Health Experiences: In the Care, Training, and Research Fields.\u201d.
\n\u2022 VI Congress (2017): \u201cBehavioral Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence. New Times, New Strategies\u201d.
\n\u2022 VII Congress (2021): \u201cTransitions, Exclusions, and Solitudes. Challenges and Responses\u201d<\/p>\n

The Congress's philosophy is defined by the following axes:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Multidisciplinarity.
\nBroad geographical representation.
\n\u2022 Broad representation of theoretical models.
\n\u2022 Emphasis on community focus.
\n\u2022 Creation of discussion spaces with broad participation from the audience.
\nAll of this within a framework of respect and collaborative spirit.<\/p>\n
