MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTIONS: NETWORK INTEGRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

SURVEY RESPONSES ON NETWORK INTEGRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. How do you understand the integration of SM and Ad Networks?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 As an opportunity to better address cases where mental health problems and substance abuse go hand in hand, and where neither network alone provides a sufficient response.<\/p>\n

\u2022 By organizing services to meet the needs of the people who use the networks, and not just the needs of the organizations that provide those services.<\/p>\n

\u2022 A form of care that guarantees greater accessibility (in the face of very low demand) and continuity of care, reduced certain barriers and avoided \u201crevolving door\u201d referrals.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Periodic and continuous coordination for work with joint plans at the individual and even group treatment level.<\/p>\n

2. What opportunities\/advantages do you see?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The addiction network centers will have to increase their quality level and will be better funded.
\nPatients with dual pathologies, who are increasingly numerous, would be better treated, and it would also be easier for the centers.
\n\u2022 The integration of the two networks will allow for better knowledge and coordination between the networks and their centers, therefore healthcare will improve in these areas.
\nNetworking is good as long as the internal relationship between professionals works.
\n\u2022 I consider it necessary to be able to work together, as the users we serve are global, not a sum of various individual parts.
\n\u2022 Coordinated and continuous work, as is the case with other network devices.<\/p>\n

Increase the technical coherence of interventions when the person is simultaneously attended by two services (e.g., CAS and SRC in SM) ensuring continuity of care.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Periodic coordination between devices to develop the PTI for jointly served users.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Record of cases of people attended with a dual pathology profile. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the samples obtained annually would allow for the improvement of intervention lines from the services.<\/p>\n

The main opportunity arising from network integration is to help prevent the worsening of situations (health, social, familial, economic, etc.) stemming from mental illnesses or addictions. Early intervention should be improved with persuasive methods that do not require the user to be in an extreme situation to accept help and treatment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Improving patient care with a common thread.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Up-to-date knowledge of both networks.<\/p>\n

3. What threats or difficulties?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The shortage of psychiatrists means that some are currently stuck in unmoving positions.<\/p>\n

The inherent difficulties in any change are sometimes magnified.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Many times you find that young people are referred to you, and after that, they stop being active points of reference.<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u201cMedicalization\u201d of care. I consider this a risk given that in both mental health and addiction, we must address the interconnectedness (bio-psycho-social).<\/p>\n

I believe they can be resolved with respect for others' work and understanding that an adaptation period is necessary.<\/p>\n

I am concerned about how the SM network approaches cases characterized primarily by problems arising from substance abuse. I am facing the dilemma that we are already encountering with other diagnoses: are these cases where the rehabilitation project relies on existing resources, or do they require specific programs?<\/p>\n

There will necessarily be integration difficulties, particularly due to diverging professional \u201ccultures\u201d and, if I may be permitted and with all due respect, due to the lack of \u201cprofessionalism\u201d that some specialized resources suffer from (especially in the field of drugs...).<\/p>\n

4. Recommendations for \u201cbest practice\u201d integration?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learn from those devices that have been working for a long time and can therefore share their experiences with us.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Work towards a culture of integration.<\/p>\n

Respect the specificities and best practices of each network.<\/p>\n

\u2022 That technicians from both networks are aware of the opportunities that integration presents, while also agreeing on mechanisms to detect potential risks.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Introduction of the \u201ccase manager\u201d figure to facilitate user support throughout their therapeutic journey.<\/p>\n

Take into account the teams in their entirety for coordination.
\nWork with concrete, time-bound goals.<\/p>\n

The accreditation process for centers in both networks should be resumed, homologating the accreditation as much as possible, while respecting the small differences that centers in both networks need for their proper functioning.<\/p>\n

This accreditation would also allow for similar treatment regarding center financing, with more favorable agreements for the centers, as their level of quality and competence will have increased.<\/p>\n

I also believe that access to specialized devices needs to be better organized when outpatient treatment is insufficient for patients with dual pathology. Professionals in both networks are unaware of the available resources, and referrals are late and poorly managed.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
