This initiative began at the European Youth Meeting in the summer of 2018, where different groups from various European countries came together, totaling over 50 nationalities.<\/p>\n

In this meeting, we worked on migratory processes, specifically on migratory grief through games. These games, which were designed and facilitated by young people from Belgium, were very well received by both the young people and the adults accompanying them.<\/p>\n

One of the conclusions they reached is the necessity and at the same time the difficulty of talking about these topics because spaces are not facilitated nor is there much willingness to listen to them. On the other hand, mental health, education, and social services professionals observe the difficulties young people have in processing grief and express the importance of them being able to do so, both for general and mental health and for a successful adaptation process in the broadest sense of the term.<\/p>\n

From here, the project was further developed and it was decided, together with the Brussels and Naples groups, to design more games to work on migratory pains in a relaxed way.<\/p>\n

These games, of which there will be 7 in total, one for each grief (although they often overlap with each other), playfully recreate the griefs of the migratory process.<\/p>\n

The methodology of the sessions is as follows: first, there is the welcome, introductions. If the participants don't know each other, different icebreaker dynamics are carried out. Once this preliminary step has been completed, the game rules are explained and then the game proceeds.<\/p>\n

When the play session concludes, the group forms a circle for a reflection on what happened, what the experience of playing and the game evoked and resonated with them. The young people from Migraespai facilitate this through guiding questions that encourage reflection, participation, and connection to each individual's reality.<\/p>\n
